Ra'asük (Lil Watan)
"Every time you demand change, they make you despair until you sell out all your freedom. They tell you to stop preaching and come dance with them."
"Raasuk" (They make you dance around) is the third album by Lebanese indie group Mashrou' Leila. The song in this video is titled Lil Watan (For our Nation), and features a dancer merrily performing to the political lyrics. She is meant to be a distraction, an analogy to how we are taught to acquiesce to the status quo, and the apathy we are rewarded for in Lebanese politics.
