Areej is a producer, director, screenwriter and artist, and the founder of Studio Humbaba, a story development and production company with offices in the UAE and Canada.
He has collaborated with musicians Shabjdeed, Mashrou’ Leila, and Wass On Earth on videos and visuals. His short films include A Piece of Heaven (2023), The Heir (2020), What Remains (2018), and Sparks (2016).
Areej is a Fulbright Fellow (2016-2018) and holds a Master of Fine Art in Cinema Directing from Columbia College Chicago. He also holds a Bachelor of Graphic Design from the American University of Beirut.
