WASS ON EARTH (2018)

WASS is a solo electronic project by Wassim Bou Balham (Who Killed Bruce Lee) that fuses the traditional Tarab genre with club music. When I heard the project, I was playing around with ideas for the visual representation of Arab space travel, a fantasy of course. Most of what we know about space and space travel comes from Western movies and images. And so I based all visual experiments on existing footage from science fiction films and NASA’s archive. These experiments became the base for WASS ON EARTH.

The hero of the story is WASS, a cyborg from a far away galaxy, locked in an intergalactic war with his idols from the past, the heroes of Tarab music.
